A CTA worker has been charged with attempted murder in the shooting of a man at a red line station early Saturday. He’s due in bond court later Sunday.

Sylvester Adams, 53 of Lynwood, faces felony counts of attempted murder and unlawful use of a weapon charges. Chicago police said they arrested Adams shortly after he shot a 37 year-old man in the back, leg and stomach at the 95th street Red Line station at around 2 a.m.

A video from a witness shows the victim shoving Adams to the ground before the customer assistance worker gets a gun and fires several shots.

The station reported Adams said the man was disturbing other customers. The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The CTA said it’s moving to fire Adams, a customer assistance employee, and is working with police to investigate the incident. They said in a statement, "The behavior of this employee is not at all reflective of the thousands of hardworking, dedicated men and women who work for the agency."
