
Republican state lawmakers says the upcoming lame-duck session of the Illinois Legislature could be a dangerous time for taxpayers.
The General Assembly is set to reconvene starting Friday, supposedly to consider “unfinished business” before the new legislative session convenes on Jan. 13.
House Republican Leader Jim Durkin warns that Speaker Michael Madigan, D-Chicago, may have some big plans after voters rejected a graduated income tax and now that federal aid to the states has not materialized.
