Voter turnout for the 2022 midterm primary election in Illinois has continued to be up in DuPage County.

According to the Office of the DuPage County Clerk, the county’s voter turnout numbers are exceeding those from the 2018 primary over the same number of days.

Since May 19, more than 15,000 voters have cast ballots at 22 early voting sites throughout DuPage County.

DuPage County officials said turnout has been above the 2018 daily numbers since Tuesday. The total number of voters who cast ballots during early voting in 2018 was over 21,000.

On Wednesday, DuPage passed the total number for early voting in the 2014 primary election.

The significant change with early voting in this election is that ballots are 100 percent paper in DuPage County, where officials have instituted a new print-on-demand system.
