(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — DuPage County has been added to the state’s warning list of counties where coronavirus metrics have hit alarming levels.

Illinois State Public Health Director Ngozi Ezike on Friday said there are too many people in counties such as DuPage who are failing to take precautions to limit the spread of the virus.

Meanwhile Lake and Will counties have been removed from the COVID-19 warning list.

But 30 counties are on the list, including Grundy and DeKalb.

Illinois reported more than 2,100 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19, along with 32 more deaths related to the virus.

The positivity rate on COVID-19 tests in Illinois over the previous seven days increased slightly to 3.9%.
