CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - People in many areas have already been casting early ballots in the upcoming June Primary elections. But early voting in Chicago gets underway today.
Early voting is getting a later start because of questions about whether ward remap proposals would be on the ballot (they won’t) and elections officials’ ruling on disputed candidates being off or on the ballot.
Election Board spokesman Max Bever said, for starters, the early vote will begin in one place, the so-called supersite at Lake and Clark. Early voting in the 50 wards won’t begin until June 13 and then continue through Primary Day, June 28th. In all cases you will be asked to declare a party preference.
A difference this year is that the early voting sites will remain open on Primary Day, so you can vote at one of them instead of at your regular precinct.
