(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Primary Election Day in Illinois is 40 days away, but not if you want to vote early.
Early voting starts Thursday in limited locations in most Chicago area counties except Cook.
Early voting in Cook County suburbs won’t begin until June 1. That’s because of some challenges in some races. Early voting in the city of Chicago starts next Thursday at the downtown supersite. Expanded early voting sites open June 13.
On June 14, Cook County will be opening an additional polling supersite at Union Station for suburban residents.
Dupage County recently announced that voters can go to any precinct to cast their vote, do early voting, or vote by mail.
"With everything in place, I'm urging voters to take advantage of it and exercise their precious right to vote," DuPage County Clerk Jean Kaczmarek told the Daily Herald.
Thursday is also the day county clerks may begin sending out mail-in ballots.
