(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- As Groundhog Day nears, a special anniversary is at hand in far north suburban Woodstock.
The 1993 Bill Murray comedy Groundhog Day was filmed in Woodstock three decades ago. The city is once again celebrating with "Groundhog Days,” which will feature dances, tours of filming sites and, of course, screenings of the movie.
Rick Bellairs, chairman of the event, says the crowd is always impressive and this year could be even bigger. People come from all over the world to attend, he said.
Danny Rubin, who co-wrote the screenplay, will be among those attending.
The event runs Wednesday Feb. 1 to Sunday Feb. 5. For more information, click here.
