ELMHURST (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is expected in the Chicago area today to speak to a law enforcement group, and the visit is ruffling some feathers.

Governor J.B. Pritzker said Governor DeSantis does not represent the values of the people of Illinois, is homophobic and has tendencies to provoke racism. DeSantis will be speaking to a law enforcement gathering this afternoon in Elmhurst.

The Chicago FOP has promoted the event at the Knights of Columbus hall in Elmhurst although it is not sponsoring the gathering.

According to the Daily Herald, the state FOP president asked why law enforcement wouldn’t want to hear from a governor who staunchly supports law enforcement? He suggested Governor Pritzker does not.

The head of the Democratic Party in DuPage County said DeSantis has no place in Illinois or modern-day America.
