CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Former Chicago Mayor Richard Daley is believed to have spent a third night at Northwestern Memorial hospital.

The former mayor was taken to Northwestern on Wednesday after feeling lethargic, according to a spokesperson for the law firm where Daley is Senior Counsel.

He’s been undergoing testing. Jackie Heard told the Chicago Tribune that he’s been “alert” and “in good spirits.”

She said he sounded like himself on the phone.

Daley turned 80 in April. He’s had some health issues, including what was reported to have been stroke-like symptoms that led to a hospital stay.

Daley was mayor for 22 years and was the longest-serving mayor of Chicago.

He left office in 2011.
