Reinventing your plants: How to force your branches to bloom indoors

This Spring, spring indoors by forcing flowering tree and shrub branches into bloom. On this week's episode of the Gardening Tips podcast, the Chicago Botanic Garden's Lisa Hilgenberg talks about how spring begins in nature.

When temperatures rise above freezing, go into your garden and select branches that have numerous healthy buds. Using a sharp tool, cut a few branches, bring them inside and carefully split the cut ends vertically. Place the branches out of direct sunlight in a cool room and change the water daily.
