
(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The Gary Police Department responded to four separate shootings in less than five minutes Monday, in which police said four men were shot.
None of the shootings were fatal, police said. No one is in custody.

Authorities said they believe all of the incidents were targeted and do not pose an immediate danger to the general public.
The first two shootings took place simultaneously in the 1800 block of Carolina Street at approximately 3:05 p.m, Gary police said.
According to police, two 18-year-old men were shot while they stood near the curb after two males drove toward them, exited their vehicle and opened fire. Police said the victims fled on foot while suspects continued to fire.
Both victims were taken to local hospitals.
Approximately one minute later, Gary police responded to a third shooting in the 2300 block of Grant Street. Police found a 26-year-old male with gunshot wounds who said he was shot at the gas station in the 2300 block of Grant Street.
Police said two males walked in front of the 26-year-old victim’s vehicle when they began shooting. The survivor said he fled on foot. He was treated at a local hospital.
At approximately 3:09 p.m., authorities responded to a fourth shooting in the 1600 block of East 7th Avenue.
Upon arrival, police said officers spoke to a 26-year-old male who said he was robbed while trying to sell a PlayStation. He pointed officers toward the home of the suspect, where police said they found a 36-year-old gunshot victim.
All of the incidents remain under investigation.
