(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- An Albany Park family is looking for their lost dog, which has been out in the cold and snow since Saturday.
It was over the weekend when Veronica Hernandez and her sister took their 2 1/2-year-old German shepherd Toby to the vet in Avondale for an eye problem.
They had to leave him there because that’s protocol these says.
Somehow, Toby bolted and ran out the door.
Ever since, Hernandez says, they’ve been looking for him. Most recently there was a sighting in the Humboldt Park area.
“Even calling his name scares him. The only thing we can try to do is trap him. Keep him so me and my sister could go and get him,” the owner said Tuesday.
“The weather’s OK right now. But yesterday it was horrible, and it’s the fourth day.”
Hernandez says Toby is wearing a light gray jacket.
If anyone sees Toby, they're asked to call Hernandez's sister Nelly Roa at 773-598-0775.
