(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A 9-year-old girl has been shot and critically wounded in the Grand Crossing neighborhood, Chicago Police said.
Someone in a car pulled up to the girl and a 61-year-old man around 2:45 p.m. Thursday near 79th and Maryland and opened fire, police said.
The girl was being treated now at Comer Children's Hospital for a gunshot wound to the head.
The man was hit in the foot and is at the University of Chicago Hospital, police said.
