(WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The patented GOGOVie hybrid baby carrier was not something Angelique Warner was thinking about creating. She said it was a vision.

"I had a ‘potty’ emergency with my one-year-old twins, my son was four-years-old and I had a newborn breastfeeding," Warner said. "At that time, we had 14 teenage boys living in our home, so we had a boarding school."

"That day, the baby was breastfeeding, and she would not let me break her latch in order for me to help the twins get to the potty. That was the potty emergency that landed the vision for GOGOVie,” Warner noted. “I saw it clearly in my mind's eyes. In that bathroom, with the twins on the potty successfully, the baby still nursing, I saw that carrier in the fully reclined, cradle position, with built-in privacy, both hands were free."

Warner said she went online and went to stores, looking for her version of a baby carrier. No luck.

She decided to build her vision.

Warner said GOGOVie is the first hybrid sling and soft structure buckle carrier with seven unique carrier positions, five of which offer a hands-free breastfeeding solution.

"You can do a fully reclined cradle position, a semi-cradle position, you can do a swaddle...Those are the sling positions, you can also do the traditional buckle position, that go from newborn to 35 pounds, which is about a two or three-year-old," Warner said.

Warner said she's also proud to be the first Black woman to create, manufacture and patent a baby carrier in the USA.
