Hit-and-run leaves man dead on West Side: Chicago police

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Chicago police are looking for the driver in a hit-and-run Saturday night that left a pedestrian dead on the West Side.

It was around 8:20 p.m. when officers found a man in the street who had been hit by a car near Independence Boulevard and the overpass of the Eisenhower in Homan Square.

The police department said the man, who they estimate to be between 45 and 55 years old, died at the scene.

Officials said the driver neither stayed nor reported the incident.

Police released no details about the vehicle used in the crash.
