(WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A former caseworker with the Illinois Department of Human Services is accused of fraud.

The Illinois Inspector General's Office said the IDHS caseworker used someone else's Link card, which the state gives to low-income people to buy food, to make more than $1,000 in purchases.

And, it's a bit of a double-whammy. Those in jail generally can't use Link cards, but investigators said the true  Link card holder was  in a county jail at the time.

The caseworker is also accused of putting money in the person's jail commissary account.

The Inspector General's Office said the caseworker should be fired, but she resigned and her name has not been released.
