CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A new art venue in Chicago's Old Town neighborhood debuts early next year with an exhibit that places visitors within the artwork of Vincent Van Gogh.
Immersive Van Gogh employs high-definition digital projections, light, music and movement. The experience, which has made stops in Paris and Toronto, opens Feb. 11 at the old Germania Club Building, now known as Lighthouse ArtSpace Chicago.
“You’ll wander room to room. Two giant ballrooms, the side rooms, will be animated with projections of Van Gogh’s works, and the pieces will move. The pieces will appear and disappear,” co-producer Corey Ross told WBBM Newsradio’s Lisa Fielding on Thursday.

Some of the famous Van Gogh paintings in the exhibit include “The Starry Night,” “The Bedroom in Arles,” and, of course, sunflowers.
The exhibit will take about an hour to see and features safeguards related to the current pandemic, including crowd limits, social-distancing markers and hand sanitizer stations.
Tickets for the exhibition go on sale at 11 a.m. CST on Monday, Nov. 23 at vangoghchicago.com and by phone at 844-307-4644. Ticket prices start at $39.99 ($24.99 for children 16 or younger), with timed and flexible ticket options available.
