JOLIET, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Hollywood Casino in Joliet plans to move to another place in the city and the Joliet City Council has approved the move.
The Joliet City Council has voted in favor of Hollywood Casino Joliet moving from downtown to a 15-acre site that’s near the I-55/I-80 interchange. It’s called Rock Run Crossings.
Estimated cost of the project is $185 million. Ultimately, stores, restaurants and a hotel are also envisioned for the site. Last year, the Joliet City Council approved a 570-unit apartment complex that would be built near the casino.
