(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Adam Hollingsworth — Chicago’s “Dread Head Cowboy,” who faces animal cruelty charges — on Tuesday appeared before a Cook County judge who warned him against posting falsehoods on social media.
The 33-year-old faces the prospect of being held in contempt of court if he continues to post assertions that are false or disrespectful of prosecutors, according to the judge.
Hollingsworth says he’s the one not being treated fairly because he was denied the chance to have his own veterinarian check out his horse NuNu. That is the animal he rode down the Dan Ryan Expressway last fall in what he characterized as an anti-violence statement.
Late last year, Hollingsworth was ordered to have no contact with any of his horses.
Tuesday, he said he’s considering a different path.
“I feel like I’m fixing to get a donkey and ride a donkey. The judge said I can’t ride no horse. He ain’t never said I can’t ride no donkey,” Hollingsworth told WBBM Newsradio.
Hollingsworth fired his lawyer and said he’ll continue to represent himself, despite the judge advising against that.
In several Facebook posts and videos, Hollingsworth claimed he had traveled to Las Vegas and bought a new horse and that he had given one of his horses to a third party instead of turning it over the county, the Sun-Times reported.
