CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The North Side’s Lakeview neighborhood experienced two overnight shootings in consecutive days this weekend, and they occurred within a block of each other.

Chicago Police said a 43-year-old man drove himself to Resurrection Hospital at around 2 a.m. Sunday with a gunshot wound to his leg. He told officers he was shot while on Clark near Cornelia. The man is in good condition, and no is in custody for the shooting, police said.

The day before, on Saturday morning, at around 2 a.m., just a block from Sunday’s incident, police said a man was shot after he got into an argument with another man while walking on the sidewalk. The 27-year-old victim began arguing with the man on Clark near Roscoe when the suspect then pulled out a handgun and fired two shots before fleeing southbound, police said. The victim was struck in the right thigh, transported to Illinois Masonic, and is reportedly in good condition. Police noted no one is in custody as detectives continue to investigate.

According to CWB Chicago, Sunday marked the 12th shooting in Lakeview this year, citing CPD records. The site said that number is more than double the amount of shootings at this point last year (five) in the neighborhood.
