CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A relatively young Latino business organization in Joliet is trying more to make its presence known to help strengthen the Latino business community.
The Joliet Latino Economic Development Association said more than a third of the people of Joliet identify as Latino and that means the success of the Latino community means success for Joliet.
Its president, Alex Paramo, is an executive with a Latino-owned investment bank and told the Joliet Herald that sometimes Latino business owners are unfamiliar with the process of getting the help they need such as obtaining grants that have been available during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Joliet Latino Economic Development Association will be co-sponsoring the Joliet Latino Music and Food Festival next month.
