(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Mayor Lori Lightfoot is pressing hard for challenger Jesus “Chuy” Garcia to divulge any connection he might have to the Commonwealth Edison scandal that ensnared former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan.

Garcia is shrugging off those questions.

Both had a joint appearance before the Chicago Tribune Editorial Board. Lightfoot emerged to say Rep. Garcia is not really answering questions about reports that his name surfaced in the alleged scheme by Madigan to get jobs for friends and allies at ComEd.

She says he must "come clean" and answer whether he is a target of the investigation.

Garcia says the answer is “no.”  He said he had no part in helping anyone get appointed to the ComEd board.
