CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Residents of the Little Village neighborhood — where 13-year-old Adam Toledo was shot and killed by police — reacted Thursday to the public release of video of the incident.

WBBM Newsradio’s Jim Gudas reports many locals expressed doubt that the boy’s shooting by a police officer was justified.

At the same time, mother Anabel Flores said she was simply devastated at the loss. She said she has an 11-year-old son.

“It was very heartbreaking,” she said. “When I saw that video, it’s very hard to see that the little boy didn’t have a chance.”

Residents we spoke with said more needs to be done to address the gang problem in Little Village, as well as provide more alternatives for teens to help keep them off what residents say are increasingly dangerous streets.
