CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The last day of Lollapalooza brought familiar and new names alike to music fans in Grant Park.

Many of the people we spoke to were making the most of the last day of Lolla, their first day, including Esparanza and other fans of J-Hope, the first South Korean headliner at a major U.S. music festival.

“ I’m a huge K-pop in general, but I’ve been following BTS for a few years now and then J-Hope recently released some singles, so I’m excited to see those,” Esparanza said prior to J-Hope’s performance.

On the other end of things, Jack and Kate from Downers Grove were happy to go home with new artists to follow.

“We just saw Low Cut Connie and that guy was pretty wild. He had a cool performance…He was just wacky, getting on top of the piano, doing all kinds of stuff,” Jack said.

“(He was) very extravagant, and none of us had listened to him before, so it was a very pleasant surprise,” Kate added.

Other fans reflected on performances from earlier in the weekend. McKenna and Logan from Nobel Square made the short trip to check out a performer they’ve seen before at Lolla.

"Friday was great. Dua Lipa was incredible," said Logan. "I lost my voice at Dua Lipa, screaming so loud for her and her amazing outfit," added McKenna.

Christian from Aurora enjoyed the metal masters.

"We loved seeing Metallica, that was probably what we were most excited for on our first day," Christian noted.

Haley and Justin from Huntsville Alabama were happy to check out their favorites while the weather cooperated.

"Down South it's just pure humidity and everything, here, it's delightful," Justin said.

The festival that has been contractually held in Chicago since 2005, quietly extended their agreement with the city for another ten years on Sunday.
