It happened on December 10th, when Chicago police said they encountered 41-year-old Romaine Heath on the 9900 block of South Wentworth Avenue, after he entered a residence and threatened a woman with a knife.

The officer was taken to a hospital in serious condition, while Heath was taken to a hospital in critical condition, before being placed into police custody.
