FRANKLIN PARK, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Franklin Park man has been charged with drug-induced homicide in the death of a Round Lake woman more than three years ago.

Troy Campbell was arrested Saturday night in Franklin Park for the 2018 death of then 40-year-old Dina Doyle.

He’s accused of supplying Doyle with fentanyl-laced heroin that led to her death at Glenbrook Hospital in August 2018.

In March 2020, Glenview Police acquired an arrest warrant for Campbell, but it was learned Campbell relocated to Montgomery County, Texas, for an undetermined amount of time. At some point Campbell returned to Illinois, and on Jan. 15, Campbell was arrested.

The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office said 54-year-old Troy Campbell sold Doyle $50 worth of heroin the day she died.

In a proffer, prosecutors claimed a witness saw the transaction in the parking lot of a Norridge Walgreens with Campbell, who had supplied Doyle with heroin in the past. The same witness saw Doyle take the drugs, and drove her to the hospital after she became unresponsive.

According to the proffer, Doyle had no pulse or vital signs upon being received by medical personnel at the hospital. An autopsy was performed on the Doyle, and testing revealed that she died of combined drug toxicity of heroin, fentanyl, and acetyl.

A judge denied bond for 54-year-old Troy Campbell. He is due back in court on Wednesday.
