(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A 25-year-old Round Lake Park man sold vaping products to minors in exchange for sex acts and other favors, police in north suburban Gurnee said Thursday.
Police say they arrested Isai J. Gonzaga earlier this week on five counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of minors.
Detectives had begun investigating him after receiving tips Gonzaga was selling vaping materials to underage people in exchange for sexual acts or sexually explicit images or videos, police said in a news release.
Authorities say he victimized minors between the ages of 13 and 17. Gonzaga allegedly picked up his victims and drove them to a secondary location for the exchange, police said.
In Illinois, people must be 21 to purchase tobacco or vaping products.
“The Gurnee Police Department would like to remind parents of the importance of educating children about the dangers of talking to strangers through social media or online,” the news release said.
Gonzaga was booked and later released from jail on a $250,000 bond, police said.
