GARY (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Gary police are investigating a shooting that killed one man and wounded another at a tire shop.
It happened at about 5 p.m. on the 1400 block of East Ridge Road, at the Happy Way Tire Shop. A witness told police a man fired multiple shots into the shop from the street and then took off in a car.
Inside the shop, police found one man dead and a second with a leg wound.
As police were investigating, a crowd gathered outside, which prompted them to close Ridge Road to traffic.
They’re asking for help from the public in identifying the shooter.
