CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Metra plans to hire more than 100 people as the commuter rail system prepares for customers to return.
Metra spokesperson Meg Reile on Tuesday said the agency needs what she calls "behind-the-scenes" workers. These include employees who clean the rail cars or inspect them.
“Basically, working and restoring the system,” Reile said. “We haven’t filled some jobs during the pandemic, and now’s the time to start filling them so that we’re ready to go.”
