A well-known brand has taken up residence at Old Chicago Post Office, seeking innovation from Chicago’s available labor force.

Uber remains the recently renovated buildings largest tenant, but now power tool staple Milwaukee Tool has made a decent investment in the Old Chicago Post Office, putting more than $14 million into renovations of 70,000 square feet of space.

Milwaukee Senior VP Jon Finch answers the question, why Chicago?

"Chicago, I think, has got a wonderful university based, tech base, vibrant, downtown, vibrant economy vibrant growth. I think when you take a look at the energy that a city like Chicago brings, it correlates a lot with what we're trying to accomplish," Finch said.

What Milwaukee hopes to accomplish in Chicago, Finch tells WBBM, is the reinvention of technology in the construction space,

"Our tools have got a lot of technology. The number of electric engineers we're looking for is staggering, and places, like Chicago, I think, are really going to make a difference for us to be able to hire all of the people we need," he said.
