On Saturday, a Chicago woman was charged with the killing of her son and then forcing her other son to help her hide the child's body.

According to Lake County prosecutors, 38-year-old Jannie M. Perry killed her 6-year-old son, Damari Perry, and lied about what happened to him, Fox32 reported.

Perry has now been charged with first-degree murder, concealment of a homicidal death, and obstructing justice.

On Jan. 5, Jannie Perry and one of her children reported that Damari Perry was missing. His body was found near an abandoned house in the 700 block of Van Buren Street in Gary, Indiana, according to the FBI on Saturday morning.

Damari's brother, 20-year-old Jeremiah R. Perry, is also charged in the murder facing charges of aggravated battery, causing bodily harm to a child under 12, concealing a homicidal death, and obstructing justice.

Another sibling is also facing charges in juvenile court, and all three were arrested on Friday night, with Jannie Perry scheduled to appear in court on Sunday.

An autopsy for Damari Perry is scheduled for Monday and will determine the cause of death and whether or not Jannie Perry's elaborate story about how her son went missing is true.

Jannie Perry had said that Damari and her 16-year-old daughter were picked up by a woman named "Monique" and a man named "Wack" or "Chaos" on Tuesday and driven to Skokie for a party.

The 16-year-old daughter claimed that she had been drinking, passed out, and when she came to the man and Damari Perry were gone. Jannie Perry claimed that "Monique" drove the daughter back to North Chicago without her brother.

However, the story had holes as evidence showed it was allegedly fabricated, police said. They then turned the investigation, with the assistance of the FBI, toward the family's home in North Chicago.
