(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A 39-year old woman has been charged in connection with a hit and run last spring that injured a child, authorities have announced.
Chicago police say Jennifer Garcia of the Northwest Side struck a 7-year-old boy in the 900 block of North Hamlin on April 14. The boy reportedly suffered a serious leg injury and was hospitalized.
Garcia is accused of driving away in an SUV and failing to report the incident; driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance.
She was expected in court Tuesday.
