(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Data from the Pew Research Center shows many people are on the move this summer largely because of the COVID-19 pandemic
It’s a different kind of year, says Chuck Kuhn, founder and CEO of JK Moving Services
“The move volume we’ve experienced from the beginning of May through year-to-date September is about 40% more than we had least year this period,” he tells WBBM Newsradio.
Kuhn says 58% of shipments leaving Illinois originated in Chicago so far this year.
Kuhn says some are looking to get out of densely populated areas like Chicago and New York City
Also, businesses have been clearing out and storing office furniture in order to follow social-distancing guidelines, he said.
