(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry re-opens this weekend with a super-sized main attraction.
“Marvel: Universe of Super Heroes” is billed as the world’s largest interactive exhibit focusing on the characters created by Stan Lee and other creative forces at Marvel Comics.
The 10,000-square-foot presentation features more than 300 artifacts, costumes, Marvel movie props and the first issue of Marvel Comics published in 1939. It charts the history of such iconic heroes such as Spiderman, Hulk, Iron Man, Black Panther, Captain America and the X-Men.

“This is just not a look back at Marvel’s history. It’s a look forward, and it talks about the new characters that Marvel is introducing,” MSI's Anne Rashford told WBBM Newsradio. “This exhibit is really multigenerational.”
The pandemic scuttled plans to open the show last fall. Now, it will run Sunday through Oct. 24.
Advance tickets are necessary. The museum will observe safety guidelines related to the coronavirus.
