CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- It's Halloween season, and Chicago does not disappoint when it comes to celebrating holidays. One new way to celebrate this year's spooky season is at the pop-up, immersive experience, Sleepy Hollow.

You may have heard rumors that Sleepy Hollow is a place where blood runs cold, haunted by a warrior without a head bathed in red who rides to and fro, but please, worry for naught! What awaits you is an eve of fantastical joy, in woodlands that are yours to explore!
Sleepy Hollow: An Immersive Cocktail Experience welcomes guests deep into the western woods, bringing them back to the year 1799 in the town of Sleepy Hollow, home to a tavern overflowing with cocktails, music, and many, many surprises. Just be careful not to lose your head!

"There are some show elements all designated and themed around Sleepy Hollow, with also cocktails themed around Sleepy Hollow as well," said General Manager Alexis Cuda.
The 90-minute immersive experience, based on the legend of the Headless Horseman, combines the comedy-horror of the famed spectral universe with three woodland-inspired, supernatural cocktails and snacks. Between cocktails, guests can explore the set design, hidden nooks, interactive activities, and more.

"The decor is amazing. Our scenic designer did an extravagant job making the entire space, which was an old pizza parlor originally and then a COVID testing site. It looks just like a forest, there's trees, there's grass on the ground, we even have scents around to make it super immersive, to make it really feel like you are in the woods of Sleepy Hollow in 1799," Cuda said.
"We renovated the entire room, we painted the walls, we built certain rooms, we paper-mached the huge Sleepy Hollow curse tree."

"The entire experience is a super crazy pop-up bar, so the most important thing is to just keep an open mind and you will have so much more fun. The actors are amazing. We have audience participation and there's even a little secret in the witch's hut that you get taken into every show," Cuda said.
