(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Another lawsuit has been filed downstate challenging Illinois’ new assault weapons law.

This time the lawsuit was filed in White County on behalf of more than 1,000 plaintiffs including dozens of firearms dealers. One of the plaintiffs is former State Senator Darren Bailey.

Like the lawsuit filed in Effingham County by the same lawyer, Thomas DeVore, this lawsuit alleges legislators violated the state constitution by taking a bill that was originally about insurance and adding in the assault weapons ban language.

A judge in the first lawsuit ordered the law NOT to be enforced against its 850 plaintiffs at least temporarily.
