(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — There will no classes today at a Glenview high school following a fire that began yesterday in the school's wood shop.
Just prior to dismissal Thursday afternoon, at around 3 p.m., a fire started inside Glenbrook South High School. An alarm was activated, officials with Glenbrook High School District 225 noted, and students, staff and faculty were evacuated from the school.
There were no injuries.
Firefighters deemed the building unsafe to re-enter and most after-school activities were called off.
Today, Glenbrook South has cancelled classes and rescheduled AP testing. Students, however, will be allowed back in the building to retrieve their belongings.
Glenbrook South's varsity baseball team will play on campus this afternoon, at Titan Field, against New Trier.
