One dead following Romeoville shooting, suspect still at large

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) --One victim has died following a shooting in Romeoville Friday night and another victim, who was also shot is currently in stable condition, according to Romeoville Police.

Police said that the deceased victim is a 19-year-old male from Chicago and the other victim is a 16-year-old juvenile also from Chicago.

Police said they responded around 8:45 p.m. to the Scene 75 Entertainment Center on 460 South Weber Road for reports of shots fired following a verbal dispute.

"Upon arrival, we had two individuals that had received gunshot wounds. The suspect had fled prior to our arrival," said Deputy Police Chief Christopher Burne.

The victims were transported to Ascension Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Joliet. Police have identified a suspect, but he has still not been located.

"He is at large at this time," Burne said.

"We believe we have him contained to a specific area, but we are asking people at this time to shelter in place until we can verify whether or not the individual is in the area still."
