According to the shelter, the weeklong adoption marathon aims to match 120 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens with loving homes, just in time for the holidays.

From adorable litters of bouncy puppies and playful kittens to spunky teenage dogs to bonded senior cats, the Holiday Adopt-A-Thon will feature a wide variety of pets to suit every household. Additionally, the PAWS Chicago Lincoln Park Adoption Center has extended its hours and added additional adoption appointments for this special event. Adoptions are by appointment only, and walk-ins are welcome to visit, but subject to space availability.

During their appointments, prospective adopters can meet all the available animals and walk through the adoption process with staff and volunteers. Interested adopters are encouraged to check the PAWS Chicago website daily as new animals will be added.

“Pets bring warmth and love into a home, and we know so many people are interested in adding a cat or dog to their families during the holiday season,” said Susanna Homan, PAWS Chicago Chief Executive Officer, in a statement. “Our ‘ComPETibility’ process aims to find the ideal personality and lifestyle match for every pet because for homeless pets, nothing beats finding a home for the holidays.”

PAWS Chicago offers extensive resources to help pets make a seamless transition into their new homes and provides a lifetime safety net for every animal, ensuring that if something happens to the adopter, their PAWS pet will always be cared for.
