
A driver struck a car and then hit and killed a pedestrian before crashing into a building Friday morning on the Near West Side.
The driver was heard south on Damen Avenue around 2:40 a.m. when he struck a car going east on Roosevelt Road, Chicago police said.
The driver continued south and hit a pedestrian on the road before crashing into a building, police said.
The pedestrian, a 34-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
The driver was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition and will be issued citations, police said.
