CPD continue to search for 25-year-old Northwestern Ph.D. student who disappeared last weekend

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Family and friends are appealing to the public for help in finding a 25-year-old Northwestern University student who went missing after leaving a party in Lincoln Park over the weekend.

Peter Salvino was last seen at a party in the 2400 block of North Geneva Terrace just after midnight Sunday morning. He had Facetimed a family member at that time.

Peter’s brother-in-law, Scotty Gruszka, spoke with CBS- 2.

“We are imploring any and all Lincoln Park and east lake core residents who have Ring doorbells or security cameras to check their footage. This is not how we imagined heading into the holidays, and we desperately miss Peter,”  Gruszka said.

Police said Salvino was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and maroon pants. He’s 6-foot-1 with brown eyes and brown hair, and is a Ph.D. candidate in Northwestern’s Interdepartmental Neuroscience program.

Nick Saleh is a close friend.

“Check the alleys, dumpsters, anything really, please,” Saleh told CBS-2.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Chicago police.
