(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Here is the latest roundup of weekend activities across the Chicago region. WBBM Newsradio’s Rachel Pierson reports.
--One of Chicago’s largest street festivals is back this summer. Now in its 19th year, Wicker Park Fest celebrates the iconic neighborhood with a great music line-up, local food and plenty of sales at surrounding shops.
--You’ll find the ultimate foodie fest at Taste of River North. Now located on North Wells, the street festival features restaurants, local merchants and Chicago’s best party bands. Don’t forget to bring your furry friend on Saturday for the first-ever dog parade.
--Looking for something scrumptious on the go? The Chicago Food Truck Festival highlights the city’s best mobile chef culinary scene in the South Loop. The event is free but you’ll need to reserve a ticket in advance.
--The largest Latino festival of its kind returns to Pilsen. Fiesta del Sol is expected to draw more than 1 million people throughout the free, four-day fest and showcase the best tacos, tamales and tostadas in town.
--Calling all collectors: Bring your trading cards, autographs and other memorabilia to the Stephens Center in Rosemont for the 43rd annual National Sports Collectors Convention. It's been said, "If you can't find what you're looking for at the National, it probably doesn't exist!"
--And who doesn’t love a good throwback? Vintage Days are back in Historic Downtown Long Grove and bridging yesterday with today. You’ll find all things vintage, reclaimed and hand-made that you won’t find anywhere else.
