
(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Police in New Haven, Connecticut, have announced a person of interest in the murder of a Yale graduate student who grew up in Chicago.
It was Saturday evening when 26-year-old Kevin Jiang was shot multiple times and killed near Yale University.
Now, police in New Haven say a 29-year-old graduate student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology is wanted for questioning.
Qinxuan Pan was in the area when Jiang was murdered, authorities say.

Kevin Jiang, whose roots were in Chicago’s Chinatown, got engaged just one week before he was killed.
His fiancee is a graduate student at Yale.
The New Haven Independent reports that she had been an undergraduate at MIT, where person-of-interest Qinxuan Pan is a researcher in computer science and artificial intelligence.
