AUGUSTA, MAINE (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Governor JB Pritzker is still at meetings for the National Governor’s Association in Augusta, Maine today, but he’ll be in Florida, boosting the campaigns of Democratic candidates there this upcoming weekend.
Pritzker is expected to headline the Florida Democratic Party’s annual leadership Blue Gala on Saturday. He was invited by the state party chair, Manny Diaz.
In addition to his remarks in the spotlight, Pritzker is expected to support Democratic candidates in Florida, like Congresswoman Val Demings, who’s running for the U.S. Senate.
Natalie Edelstein, Governor Pritzker’s Campaign spokeswoman, says Florida is in need of a pro-choice, Democratic Governor and Governor Pritzker is proud to support the Florida Democrat’s efforts to turn the state blue. She said he’s working to elect Democrats in every corner of the country.
The Governor’s been stumping for Governors and Democratic
candidates in Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota and New Mexico among
other places. Of course being on the National stage fuels speculation that
Pritzker’s considering a run for President, but he said he’s only
interested in keeping the job he has.
