RIVERSIDE (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A teacher at Riverside-Brookfield High School is on paid leave after he was accused of having a sexual relationship with a female student when he was a basketball coach at Elmwood Park High School more than ten years ago.
Dallas Till is alleged to have taken an interest in the girl when she was a freshman in 2004, according to a lawsuit filed against Till and the school district.
It alleges he was “overt” in his attraction to her and there were text messages that said he “loved” her. Till and his wife separated in 2007 and, according to the suit, he and the girl began to have sex “frequently.”
People knew about it, the suit alleges, including students, school staff and Till’s wife. When the girl was a senior she dropped out and became pregnant with Till’s child, the suit alleges.
It says he told her he would “commit suicide” if she told anyone and he “convinced” her to get an abortion. The suit says Till then “abandoned” her and says she’s “haunted” by the experience.
Till’s lawyer told the Tribune he’s seeking to have the suit dismissed.
“That speaks for itself as to its validity,” the lawyer said.
