If your travels will take you along I-55 in Will County over the next several months, be prepared to encounter a major resurfacing project.
The Illinois Department of Transportation said the resurfacing project is along I-55 in a 13-mile stretch of the Obama Presidential Expressway.
Work will go on between Weber Road and I-80. The roadwork is expected to mostly take place in the late night and overnight hours and, as usual, will be weather permitting. The resurfacing work will involve closing lanes and ramps at times.
IDOT said you should be ready to get into traffic jams unless, you find an alternate route.
The project is part of the Rebuild Illinois plan and is expected to cost about $23.5 million.
