River North shooting between 2 drivers sends 3 men to hospital

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Three men were hospitalized following a shootout in River North Sunday morning, Chicago police officials said.

It happened at about 3 a.m., police said. The three men were standing on a sidewalk near State and Hubbard Streets when people inside of two vehicles began shooting at each other.

Police said the men, ages 22, 26 and 32, were struck after being caught in the crossfire.

All three victims were taken to Northwestern Hospital.

Chicago police said the 22-year-old and the 26-year-old, who were both shot in the body, remain in critical condition. The 32-year-old was shot in the arm. Police said his condition is stable.

No one is in custody.

Area Three detectives are investigating the shooting.
