
(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – An accused bank robber in northwest suburban Kildeer didn't get far before police caught her.
Kildeer police say officers responded to a call about an armed robbery in progress around 10 a.m. Monday at the Bank of America on Rand Road.
Witnesses said a woman wearing a white face covering told an employee that she had a gun but never showed one and ordered the employee to put money in a duffle bag.
Officers located the bank robber – identified as Tina Lambert of Kildeer -- a short distance away at the intersection of Rand Road and Plum Grove Road.
Police say Lambert admitted her involvement in the robbery and officers recovered about $20,000 in cash in a duffle bag she had.
Lambert was charged with armed Robbery, burglary and felony theft.
She was being held on $200,000 bond – meaning she would need to post $20,000 bail.
