CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A staff member at Roosevelt High School in the Albany Park neighborhood has been removed following a scuffle with a student.
Students were recording video with their phones when the confrontation occurred in the lunchroom.
A male staff member is seen walking with a male student. Both have their arms around each other’s backs.
The staffer then appears to put his hand on the student’s neck and shove him to the floor and hold him there briefly. He then helps the student up and walks him out a door where he’s seen shoving the student to the ground.
Principal Daniel Kramer sent a note to parents that said there’s an investigation regarding "allegations that one of our staff members engaged improperly with a student."
“This individual has been removed during the course of the investigation,” Kramer added.
It’s unclear what occurred between the student and staff member before the scuffle.
