Schaumburg business destroyed in fire

SCHAUMBURG (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - An evening fire has ruined a commercial building in Schaumburg.

Fire officials said crews responded around 7:30 p.m. to the 1000-block of Lunt Avenue and found the single-story building engulfed in intense flames. Firefighters had to combat a collapsed roof and it took nearly two hours to put out the fire. However, crews remained at the scene monitoring for hot spots.

No one was injured, the fire department said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

It is unclear what type of business operated inside the building. Fire officials did note that the building consisted of separate storage units.
